Where to find article review samples?
One of the many assignments a student in high school or in college will be asked to complete is to review a particular article. Finding them and copying the method by which the article is reviewed is easy. Go online. There are dozens of websites, often related to a tertiary educational institution, which freely publish reviews of articles often created by faculty members within that institution. Of course you can also search journals and periodicals, particularly those located in college libraries, which also are an excellent source of samples of article reviews.
So finding the actual article review samples is easy. Go online. But if your assignment is to find a review of an article on a particular and specific topic, then you will need to refine your search engine parameters. It can be done and with persistence you will succeed.
Be sure you have actually found an article review
It is an easy mistake to make to think that you are reading an actual article. This is not what you have been asked to do. Make sure it is headed article review. It is then easy for you to note the formula or procedure undertaken to create the article review.
It will begin with the title of the article, the name of the writer of the article and the year in which it was published. The title of the publication in which the article appeared is also an essential part of the first paragraph of the review.
Then you begin with an introduction of the writer of the article. This is highly important. The writer's educational background, qualifications and history of employment will be listed in this section of the article review. If it does not do these things then the article review is not a good sample and should be ignored.
The body of the article review
This involves the writer or reviewer's summary of the article working through by taking each point at a time. The reviewer states each point and then comments on whether or not in their opinion the article writer as adequately supported their argument.
Just as there are rules and accepted conventions when writing specific articles, so too are there rules and accepted conventions for writing article reviews. Learn the rules and follow them to the letter so that an article review is as good as, if not better than the actual article itself.
